1) Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, home to Loretta Lynn’s Ranch, and the nearby town of Waverly, were devastated on Saturday by flash flooding. The floods were caused by a massive rainstorm that dropped nearly 15 inches of rain in 24 hours, catching the entire community off guard.

according to a Facebook post from a "heartbroken" Lynn. "There are no words at the ranch today...only tears. Our ranch family is our family. We lost my amazing ranch foreman, Wayne in this devastating flood. He took such good care of things here on the ranch for us. He's one of us and the whole Lynn family Is heartbroken.

 Please pray for his precious family and friends," the post began.


"With the heaviest of hearts we are saddened to report that our beloved foreman 

Wayne Spears did not survive being swept up in the flood waters," the post continued. "Wayne has been a family friend to the Lynns and a fixture to the Ranch for decades and we are all devastated by his passing." Spears was one of at least 21 people in Tennessee who died in the flooding as of Sunday. More are missing.

 Flooding in Humphreys County, home to Lynn’s ranch, has killed 22 people and left dozens more missing, WSMV reported. More than 12 inches of rain fell on parts of middle Tennessee on Saturday, causing catastrophic flooding. “It’s devastating!” Jon Cody Finger said in an aerial video he shared of the ranch on Facebook. ”So many homes, pets and peoples lives lost today. It’s hard to describe. The entire county is destroyed by this water. People are missing and we will pick back up tomorrow to do everything we can.”

The United States Capitol Police Office of Professional Responsibility has cleared the officer involved in the shooting of Ashli Babbitt, U.S. Capitol Police announced in a press release on Monday, saying that officer "will not be facing internal discipline."




An internal investigation found the actions of the officer were "lawful and within Department policy," it said.

Babbitt can be seen on video on Jan. 6 attempting to kick through a window, shortly after she entered the Capitol. She was subsequently shot and killed by the officer. The agency says they've reviewed all available evidence in connection with the shooting including video and radio calls

The actions of the officer in this case potentially saved Members and staff from serious injury and possible death from a large crowd of rioters who forced their way into the U.S. Capitol and to the House Chamber where Members and staff were steps away,” Capitol Police said in announcing the results of the probe.




The officer, a lieutenant, shot Ms. Babbitt after rioters smashed through a door to the Speaker’s Lobby on Jan. 6. Ms. Babbitt had entered the building as part of a pro-Trump crowd aiming to disrupt the certification of President Biden’s victory in the 2020 presidential election.

"The actions of the officer in this case potentially saved Members and staff from serious injury and possible death from a large crowd of rioters who forced their way into the U.S. Capitol and to the House Chamber where Members and staff were steps away," the statement says. "USCP Officers had barricaded the Speaker's Lobby with furniture before a rioter shattered the glass door. If the doors were breached, the rioters would have immediate access to the House Chambers."

The statement adds that the officer's actions were consistent with training and USCP policy and procedure.

Capitol Police did not identify the officer involved in the shooting, and a lawyer for the officer has not responded to ABC News' request for comment.
