I woke up this morning planning to shower, throw on my new Indigo tee, and head downtown with three buddies for what was supposed to be the biggest regional MMA card of the year. Instead I’m sitting here in the same sweatpants, staring at a “EVENT CANCELLED” email that came in at 2:47 p.m. – literally four hours before doors were supposed to open.

Yeah, the entire Indigo Fights show scheduled for tonight at the Civic Center is dead. No main event, no co-main, no undercard, no nothing. Just a big fat refund link and a generic apology that feels like it was written by somebody’s cousin who owes the company favors.Here’s everything I’ve been able to piece together so far, mostly from group chats, a couple of fighters who are blowing up their stories, and one very annoyed promoter who answered my DM at 4 a.m. (yes, I’m that guy).The official line from Indigo is “unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.

” That’s the same line they used when the October card got moved because the venue double-booked a gun show (true story). But this time it’s way messier.Word is the headliner – Marcus “Mayhem” Delgado – popped hot on a random drug test that the athletic commission decided to run literally two days ago. 

Apparently the commission has been on a tear ever since that fiasco in Vegas last month and they’re not playing games with smaller promotions anymore. Delgado’s people are claiming it was a tainted supplement, which, sure, we’ve literally never heard that one before.

Once the main event was pulled, the co-main between Kayla Torres and Vanessa “The Viper” Ramos started falling apart. Ramos’ camp allegedly threatened to pull if they weren’t bumped to main event money (which the promotion obviously couldn’t do because ticket prices were already set around Delgado). 

Negotiations went nowhere, both women pulled, and then half the undercard started dropping like flies because fighters don’t want to risk injury for free when the whole night is turning into a circus.By noon today the venue was already telling staff to stop setting up cageside tables. That’s how fast this went from “hype is real” to “see you never.”I feel worst for the local guys who were making their pro debuts. There was this kid from my gym – Diego Ramirez – who’s been cutting weight for nine weeks, sold 120 tickets himself, and now has to go explain to his mom why the biggest night of his life just evaporated. 

He posted a story of himself crying in his car and then deleted it ten minutes later. That one hurt to see.Ticketmaster is processing refunds automatically, but if you bought through a third-party scalper you’re probably screwed for weeks. 

Hotels are being dicks about cancellation policies because it’s a Saturday night downtown. One guy in the Facebook group said he’s still driving in from Tucson because he already paid for the Airbnb and “might as well drink with the boys anyway.”The arena bar already announced they’re doing $2 beers from 6-10 “for everyone who got Indigo’d.” That’s actually kind of legendary.This is the third time in 18 months Indigo has had a major card fall apart last-minute. 

First it was the power outage (remember that?), then the gun-show double booking, now this. At some point you have to ask if the problem is bad luck or just bad management.

I’m not saying small promotions don’t deserve some slack – running regional MMA is a nightmare – but when you’re charging $150 for floor seats and promising “the biggest night in state history,” you gotta have contingencies that aren’t just “pray nobody gets tested.”Random side note: the merch guy is still selling hoodies in the parking garage 

if anyone wants to flex that they “were there when it didn’t happen.”I’ll update this if anything actually official comes out, but right now it’s radio silence from the promotion except that same copy-paste apology on every platform.Sucks for the fighters who trained their asses off. How to Delete a Page in Microsoft Word (The Way I Actually Do It)

I was finishing a report the other day and noticed Word had slipped in one of those stubborn blank pages at the very end. You know the one — it just sits there mocking you, and no matter how many times you hit Delete or Backspace, it refuses to disappear. I’ve fought this battle more times than I care to admit, so here’s exactly how I finally get rid of it every single time.

Method 1: The Quick Backspace Trick (works 80% of the time)

  1. Click anywhere on the blank page you want gone.
  2. Press Ctrl + Shift + 8 (on Mac: ⌘ + 8) to show paragraph marks (¶).
    You’ll suddenly see a bunch of little ¶ symbols — that’s what’s secretly holding the page hostage.
  3. If you see a whole row of ¶ marks on that empty page, just highlight all of them and hit Delete.
    Nine times out of ten the page vanishes instantly.

Method 2: Shrink the Paragraphs So They Fit

Sometimes Word thinks it needs extra space after a heading or a table. Here’s the fix:

  1. Go to the paragraph right before the blank page.
  2. Right-click → Paragraph.
  3. In the Indents and Spacing tab, set Spacing After to 0 pt (and Spacing Before too if it’s high).
  4. Check the box that says Don’t add space between paragraphs of the same style if it’s there.
  5. Click OK. Watch the blank page disappear like magic.

Method 3: When a Table Is the Culprit

This one drives me nuts. You have a table at the end of the document, and Word insists on giving it its own page.

  1. Click inside the table.
  2. Go to the Layout tab (the one that appears when the table is selected).
  3. In the Table group, click Properties.
  4. Go to the Row tab and uncheck Allow row to break across pages.
  5. Now go back to the paragraph mark right under the table (you might need to show ¶ again).
  6. Select that lonely paragraph mark and change its font size to 1 pt (yes, really).
    Suddenly the table snuggles up and the extra page is gone.

Method 4: Delete an Entire Page with the Navigation Pane (My Secret Weapon)

  1. Go to the View tab and check Navigation Pane.
  2. In the left sidebar, click the Pages tab.
  3. Scroll until you see the thumbnail of the blank page.
  4. Click the thumbnail and just hit Delete on your keyboard.
    Poof. Gone. No questions asked.

Method 5: The Nuclear Option — Go to the Source

  1. Press Ctrl + End to jump to the very end of the document.
  2. If you only want to delete one specific page, click at the start of the unwanted page, then hold Shift and click at the end of it.
  3. Hit Delete. Done.

Bonus Tip for Word Online (the web version)

If you’re using Word in the browser, it’s even easier:

  • Click at the top of the blank page.
  • Keep hitting Backspace until it disappears (sometimes you have to do it a few times).
  • Or just use the Navigation Pane method above — it works the same.

That’s it. I’ve been using these tricks for years, and one of them always works. The paragraph marks thing (Method 1) is usually the winner, but when a table is involved, Method 3 is a lifesaver.
